Formerly Hall Custom Homes, Sterling Homes is one of South Carolina's and the Grand Strand's most successful, locally owned construction companies. Company principals Harry Dill and Clinch Heyward have long been recognized as industry leaders and innovators.

Sterling is the primary builder within the popular communities of Waterford Plantation, Myrtle Trace South, Ridge Lake, and Johns Bay.  Recently, Sterling was chosen as the leader builder in Withers Preserve's Balmoral neighborhood, the area's only community where green energy saving technology is a standard feature.

Sterling Homes' also has a long history of building individual custom homes within many premier coastal communities, such as DeBordieu, the Reserve, Plantation Point, Ricefields, and the River Club. STERLING PRINCIPAL BIO -HARRY DILL:
Dill was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and grew up in Columbia, South Carolina.

Dill began his career in construction 37 years ago, learning his trade from the ground up. He was an individual general contractor for many years, before moving to Myrtle Beach in 1987.  He became the VP of Construction for Hall Construction and Hall Development, overseeing all activity within the communities of Myrtle Trace and Waterford Plantation. In 2004, he partnered with Clinch Heyward to purchase HALL companies from their founder and original owner, Glen Hall.

He has been active in the leadership of the Horry/Georgetown Homebuilders Association, having served that group as its president for three terms, including the current term. Harry also serves on a county task force that is looking into ways to provide lower cost homes to the workforce of the Grand Strand. Harry was recognized as the "Homebuilder of the Year" in 1998 and 2001. He is currently serving as District 5 Vice President of the HBA of South Carolina and as chairman of the Horry County Board of Construction Appeals.  

Dill was on the organizational board of the Waccamaw Youth Center and was instrumental in its construction and opening, in 2000.  He was nominated for Horry County's "Volunteer of the Year" Award, recognized by Gov Jim Hodges as a "Hero" for South Carolina Year of the Child in 2001and is an active supporter of Make A Wish of SC. Dill has served his church, Christ United Methodist, in many capacities, including Liturgist, Trustees chair, Administrative council and Capital campaign chair. He has also served on the board of Chrysalis.  

An avid outdoorsman, Dill is an active supporter of the SC Waterfowl Association, Delta Waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation and the SC Wildlife Federation. Dill is married with three children, Justin, Kirby and Caroline; and lives with his wife Missy in the Allsbrook community.

STERLING PRINCIPAL BIO - CLINCH HEYWARD:
Born in Columbia, SC, Heyward moved to the Grand Strand in 1973, after receiving an MBA degree.  Since that time, Heyward has worked within the development industry and has played an active role in the growth of the area.  In 1991, he joined Hall Development as the VP of Sales and Marketing, with primary responsibilities related to the very successful Myrtle Trace and Waterford residential communities.  In 2004, he partnered with Harry Dill to purchase the HALL companies from their founder and original owner, Glen Hall.

He has served as a board member of the Coastal Carolina Board of Realtors. Heyward is active in service to the All Saints Anglican Church, having served on its vestry and as Jr. Warden.  He has served on the Board of the Baskerville Ministries and was co-founder of the "Gathering of Men-Grand Strand".  He is in line to assume the chairman's position of the SC Wildlife Federation, our state's oldest conservation organization.

Heyward is married with 4 children and lives with his wife Barbara in Pawleys Island.
